| [Scene: Monica and Rachel’s, Monica is pacing anxiously waiting for Rachel.] Monica: Have a seat. (They sit at the table.) Okay, listen umm, Chandler and I are going to live together, here. Rachel: Oh my God! That’s so great! I’l so happy for you guys! Monica: Really?! Rachel: And that was so sweet of you to ask! Oh my God, the three of us are gonna have such a good time living together! Monica: Yes, we are. (Chandler is frantically trying to get Monica to correct her.) Rachel: And Chandler, you’re gonna have to watch those long showers you take in the morning because you know Rachel can’t be late. Chandler: Rach... Monica: Yeah, he’s gonna work on that. Rachel: Ohh! This is so exciting! Oh God... (Gasps and starts to sing.) Come and knock on my door... Monica: (singing) We誰l be waiting for you... 倒抽N口冷气，从来以鬼马机灵闻名的Rachel这次怎么糊涂到如此田地？她竟天真地以为他们要开始全新的三口之家，一团和气地享受天伦。善良的Monica怕Rachel接受不了，就顺水推舟地说了下去，把Chandler要搬进来而Rachel要搬出去的真相给压了下去。这让Chandler大为不满，他三番五次地催促Monica尽快找Rachel谈，此事不宜久拖啊！无奈，Monica又一次披挂上阵。知道了真相的Rachel并没有像Joey一样哭成个泪人，她一脸不在乎地望着惶惶不安的Monica，仅从牙缝里挤出一个OK，就自顾自地忙去了。 [Scene: Monica and Rachel’s, Chandler and Monica are still debating about how to tell Rachel that Chandler’s moving in and she’s moving out.] Rachel: (entering) Hey, roomie4)! Chandler: Okay, bye! (Exits.) Monica: Rach, there’s something uh, important I have to tell you. Rachel: (gasps) Are you pregnant?! Monica: No! But, I’l throwing this shirt away! I think there was a little misunderstanding before. Rachel: Um-hmm. Monica: Umm, when I said that uh, that Chandler and I wanted to umm, live together we meant alone together. Rachel: (laughs) Oh my God! Oh, that’s funny, I can’t believe I did that. Monica: Oh no sweetie, no! This is my fault. I wasn’t clear! I’l really sorry. And listen, you take as much time as you need to move out okay? There’s absolutely no rush. Rachel: Okay. (Sits back and resumes her reading.) Monica: Okay. Don’t you want a cookie? Rachel: Sure.(Monica hands her one.) Thanks. Monica: Maybe, do you need a tissue? (Rachel mumbles uh-huh and spits the half-eaten cookie out onto the tissue.) Rachel: Monica, where did you get these?! Monica: I made them! Rachel: Ooh, good God, they’re so yummy5)! (She re-ingests the previously expelled cookie matter from the tissue.) 悲痛欲绝的Monica觉得自己的感情被欺骗了，她把Rachel捧在手心里，可Rachel却把她放到了脚后跟上。她再一次找Rachel理论，原来Rachel以为Monica和Chandler只是在闹着玩，没打算真正意义上的交往，更不用说“同居”这么大的事了。可Monica斩钉截铁地告诉她：我们的确要生活在一起，认真地生活在一起。这一次Rachel终于明白了事情的原委：自己的好姐妹Monica真的要同爱人Chandler开始新生活了，而她也要开始另一种“独立”。两姐妹相拥而泣，相信这新的生活方式、新的生活态度、新的感情选择会让她们更加成熟，更加美丽，而她们的友谊也会在幸福生活的伴随下继续茁壮地成长。 让我们一起祝福Monica和Chandler幸福美满…… [Scene: Monica and Rachel’s, Rachel is painting her toe nails as Monica enters.] Rachel: Hey! Monica: Hey. So um, I was thinking that maybe we should start dividing up our stuff. Rachel: Okay! Monica: Y’know, no point in dragging it out6), dragging out the long process of you moving out and us not living together anymore. Rachel: Okay. Monica: Hey Rach, what about this? (She holds up a chrome 5-point star.) Huh? Who— who gets this? See, I don’t know if I want it because it might be, y’know, too many memories! |
