(vickey liu) John Gu’s version: With tree-lined streets, beaches and amusement places, Qingdao is a celebration of the great outdoors. 评析：outdoors在这里是名词，不是副词。 2.你可以开车去看看那些名人富豪的房子。 Unacceptable: You can drive to see those stars and magnates’s houses. 评析：stars应改为stars眨琺agnates’s应改为magnates铡?Acceptable: You can drive to see the houses owned by the rich and famous. (饿发需) John Gu’s version: You can go for a drive past the homes of the rich and famous. 评析：Drive 在这里是名词，不是动词；the rich and famous在这里是名词短语，不是形容词短语。 3.与以前传统的做法不一样，私有制企业为这项工程提供了将近三分之一的投资金额。 Unacceptable: Be different from once traditional method, private corporation offered nearly one thirds of the money to this project. 评析：英语中没有“be”打头的从句，应改为Different from traditional ways；private corporation应改为a private corporation或private corporations，根据上下文，复数corporations显得比较妥帖。 Acceptable: Unlike traditional ways in the past, private funded ventures have offered this project nearly one-third of the money invested. (Yp_1988) 评析：traditional和in the past是同义词，因而这里应改为Unlike ways of the past。 John Gu’s version: In a break with tradition, private firms provided almost a third of the investment needed for the project. 评析：break在这里是名词，不是动词。 |
