办公室英语笔记（1）：培养感情，请客吃饭+饭后话题

    一、请客吃饭

    1、Would you be interested in sth？你有兴趣做某事吗？

    Would you be interested in going to the cinema with me？

    = Would you be interested in watching movie with me？

    回答：I'd like /love to ，but I be +doing

    I'd love to， but I'm working late tonight.

    我请客：It's on me / My treat / Be my guest.

    2、invitation邀请

    A：Jerry，would you be interested in dinner with me ？

    B：Thank you for your invitation，I'm free tonight.

    A：Which food do you like best？ chinese food or western food？

    B：I prefer some Chinese traditional food.

    A：I'll pick you up at 7：00.

    B：Thank you

    3、在餐厅at the restaurant

    订座位：

    A：Please give me a table for 2.I'd like the seat by the window.靠窗的座位

    B：This way ，please.

    订餐：ready to order

    A：What would you like to drink？ beer，coffee or tea？

    B：Tea is fine.

    A：A pot of dragonwell tea.一壶龙井

    A：What would you like to eat？ yangzhou fried rice扬州炒饭or west lake beef soup？

    B：I wanna some west lake beef soup. 西湖牛肉羹

    What is your special？你们的特色菜是什么？特色菜the specials= specialty

    A：Would you like anything else？

    B：No， I'm fine

    结账：

    A：Waiter，please give me the bill.

    B：It's expensive，let's go dutch.这么贵，我们AA制吧。

    A：It's my treat.

    二、吃完饭后谈论的话题：减肥keep fit  ，lose weight

    1、 It makes no sense一点都没有道理

    It makes no sense to me why you have to do the same thing twice.

    2、 hope one day希望有一天

    I hope one day I will become an english teacher master.

    I hope one day there is no war on the world.

    对话：

    A： It makes no sense.

    B： I'm handsome and you are not ？

    A： I'm talking about the conversation between the women here ，it seems that the

    topic never runs far the dieting ，look at the women around the office，most of them

    are thin ，and the others are really thin，why are they still talking about losing weight？               never runs far永远离不开

    B： It's the society that we live in promoting thinner is better .

    我们的社会宣扬越瘦好

    It keeps on promoting that thinner is better，if you are not thin，you are

    unattractive or unhealthy.

    A： I hope one day these women will realize  being thin isn't the only way to be healthy，

    All of you are attractive no matter what the society says .

    3、believe it or not信不信由你

    4、How is it possible？这么可能会？

    How is it possible that Victor is teaching in two different classrooms at the same time？

    5、I told you so .我告诉过你了

    I told you so，don't say I didn't warn you.别说我没警告过你。

    对话：

    A：You look very fit，have you always been like this？

    B：Believe it or not，I once weighed over 200 pounds .

    A：I can't believe it，how is it possible？

    C：It's true，I've seen a picture of him back in those days.是真的，我看过他以前的照片。

    A：I told you so，back in my college years I did nothing but sit around and study.

    I ate whenever I studied，before I knew it I barely fit through the door.

    B：How did you lose all your weight / that？

    A：I tried everything like diet pills，diet suppliments补给品，eating nothing，but the only

    thing that worked was exercising and working out运动健身。
