2011年英语口译笔译新闻热词：中小型企业

　　一年一度的两会逐次拉开序幕。政府经济刺激方案资金的使用成为代表委员们共同关注的热点。由于国内外经济形势复杂，中小企业的生存状态和发展前景也成为本次两会的焦点之一。

　　Hu Keyi, a senior executive at Shanghai-based Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co Ltd, one of the nation's largest shipbuilders, said that even though the impact of the crisis is "far worse than anyone could have anticipated", and new orders all but dried up, industry had the cushion of the stimulus to fall back on.

　　我国最大的造船厂之一、上海江南造船集团有限公司高层胡可一表示，虽然经济危机的影响“比预期的要严重很多”，而且新订单也无音信，但他们还可以指望刺激方案的援助。

　　Other members were more concerned about the disadvantaged groups of society, such as farmers and small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

　　其他委员则更加关注农民和中小型企业等社会弱势群体。

　　我们平时说到“中小型企业”的时候都会用SMEs也表示，这个说法的全称为small- and medium-sized enterprises，最后一个s小写是因为它在这里表示enterprise(企业)的复数形式。与之很相似的一个表达可能大家也见过，就是SOEs，即state-owned enterprises(国有企业)。由此举一反三就可以知道privately-owned enterprises为“私营企业”，collectively-owned enterprises是“集体企业”，而foreign-funded enterprises则是“外资企业”。
