MACAO, May 13 -- Macao's visitor arrivals in package tours decreased by 7.7 percent year-on-year to 510,679 in March 2010, according to the figures released on Thursday by the city's Statistics and Census Bureau.
The figure showed that visitor arrivals in package tours in March from Chinese mainland (355,300) and Taiwan (25,225) dropped by 18.8 percent and 5.9 percent respectively, while those from Japan (27,581) and Hong Kong (21,196) rose by 55.9 percent and 6.3 percent respectively. Moreover, visitors from the Republic of Korea (14,173), India (6,530) and Vietnam (5,924) also registered notable increase.
In the first quarter of 2010, visitor arrivals in package tours increased by 4.6 percent year-on-year to 1,433,956, the figure showed.
Meanwhile, the number of local residents traveling outbound in package tours in March increased by 8.8 percent year-on-year to 18, 494. The Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Japan were the most popular tour itineraries, according to the Bureau. |
