Last November, Lindsay Lohan made a bunch of noise by traveling to India to work on a BBC documentary highlighting the plight of child workers. While there, Lindsay participated in a raid that freed dozens of little Slumdog Millionaire-like wretches from the clutches of evil exploiters – at least, that was what Lindsay claimed on her Twitter page. “Over 40 children saved so far,” she tweeted. “Within one day’s work … This is what life is about … Doing THIS is a life worth living!!!” Well, yes Lindsay, that would be a life worth living – if in fact you were living it. According to the Indian government, however, you did not arrive on Indian soil until after the raid – and furthermore, though you were there in a professional capacity, you did not have a proper work visa. Because of these transgressions, the Indian government now wants to ban you from ever setting foot in their nation again. And who says you don’t have enough ambition? Most people go their entire lives without ever being blacklisted by a national government, but you’ve managed to do it before the age of 24. Congrats. |
