　　Rich economies are also less dependent on oil than they were, and so less sensitive to swings in the oil price. Energy conservation, a shift to other fuels and a decline in the importance of heavy, energy-intensive industries have reduced oil consumption. On the other hand, oil-importing emerging economies — to which heavy industry has shifted — have become more energy-intensive, and so could be more seriously squeezed.

　　参考译文：发达国家和过去相比对于石油的依靠减少了，对于石油价格的波动也没有那么敏感了。

　　第二句：

　　主干识别： A， B and C have reduced oil consumption.

　　首先：On the other hand,后面的内容和前面的内容通常是构成转折的。

　　定语从句充当插入语，我再说一遍，插入语不是一种独立的语法成分，是由其他成分来充当的!这里就是定语从句充当插入语!别来问我同位语和插入语有什么区别!有的时候是同位语充当插入语，只要是放在— 和—之间，以及，和，之间的就是插入语。
