北大附属益田同文学校国际部开学周，校长邀您来看！

　　北大附属益田同文学校国际部于2018年9月3日星期一正式“开门营业”。我所指的“事业”是教育事业，更具体一点，是国际教育事业。

　　The International Division of Peking University Yitian Tongwen School Langfang was ‘open for business’ on Monday 3 September, 2018. The ‘business’ I am referring to is the business of education. Specifically, international education.

　　虽然学习成绩的提高是国际部始终的工作核心，但我们同样重视学生的全面发展。我们希望让孩子们获得实用的技能和健全的性格，帮助他们可以在当今社会解决他们所面临的问题，可以使他们在 21世纪取得成功。

　　While academic success will be at the heart of what we do in the International Division, we will be equally committed to the education of the whole child. We want our children to acquire the skills and dispositions that will help them find solutions to the challenges that we face today and, ultimately, make them successful in the 21st Century.

　　我们希望我们的学生能够学会与他人积极有效的合作，批判性地分析问题和解决问题，具有创新性，能够清晰地表达自己的想法并进行有效的沟通，能够熟练的使用现代科学技术。

　　We want our students to be able to collaborate effectively with others, to critically analyse and solve problems, to be innovative, to be able to communicate with clarity, and to be able to use technology effectively.

　　我们坚信某些性格特征是在当今社会中生活和工作必不可少的，最终获得成功的是那些具有高度反思意识，积极参与，善解人意，充满好奇心和具有适应能力的人。同时，我们坚信乐于奉献和持续努力是获得个人成就的最关键的精神。我们的目标就是在培养学生以上优秀品质。

　　We also believe that certain dispositions are essential in the modern world and that the most successful are those who are highly reflective, engaged, empathetic, inquisitive and adaptable. Above all, we believe that dedication and effort are the most critical attributes of high-achieving individuals, and it is our goal to develop these qualities in our students.

　　在开学的周，国际部为学生提供了和教师互相熟悉和了解的机会。

　　我们与您分享的照片只是我们活动的一部分，因为很遗憾有些活动的美好瞬间没有被捕捉下来，照片有时也无法展示孩子们的学习状态、参与热情以及在活动中获得的喜悦。但我们仍会认真的记录孩子们在国际部的点滴生活!

　　The photos we share with you can only tell a part of our story and can never really express the level of engagement, learning and fun that was had by all. We sincerely plan for this to continue!
