China's southern resort island of Hainan has confirmed 30 cholera cases and nearly 300 suspected cases in the last few days, the provincial government said on Friday.
周五，海南省政府报告称，几日来，海南省已确诊30例霍乱病例，约300例疑似病例。 No deaths had been reported, the government website said, but Xinhua news agency said on Thursday an eight-year-old girl died of congenital heart disease triggered by suspected cholera. 政府网站称，目前尚无病人死亡。但是周四新华社报道称，一个八岁的女孩已因疑似霍乱诱发先天性心脏病并发死亡。 Continuous torrential rains on the island this month may be one reason for the epidemic, the website said. 政府网站称，海南岛近来连续数日的强降雨天气可能是传染病散播的一个原因。 The latest dispatch from Xinhua says the cholera outbreak has been contained within Danzhou City. 25 patients have been "cured", 5 remain in hospital, but another 300 suspected cases are out there. As to the cause of the outbreak: Initial investigation by [the Hainan provincial health bureau] shows the acute intestinal epidemic started from a dining party by the villagers of Huangyu Village, Danzhou City in the middle of October. The first cholera case was found there on Oct. 20.The confirmed cases are mainly among the villagers from the dining party. 新华社最新急电报道，霍乱疾病被控制在儋州市范围内，已有25人治愈，另外5人留院观察。但是300例疑似病人仍尚未入院收治。至于传染病因，根据海南省政府卫生局的调查，这种急性肠道传染病系10月中旬儋州市黄玉村村民的一次聚餐引发。第一例霍乱病例确诊于10月20日。确诊病例基本上是参与聚餐的村民。 |
