UK checks 800,000 errors in organ donor list

　　The British transplant authority announced Saturday it was investigating around 800,000 errors in its organ donor list stretching back about a decade.
　　An investigation found 20 families had allowed organs to be taken from the deceased relatives after being misinformed about what consent had previously been given.
　　Now families of would-be donors may refuse permission for transplants if they fear that the deceased’s stipulations on which organs they were willing to donate were are going to be followed.
　　Officials are worried that trust could collapse in the donor register which holds more than 16 million names.
　　Joyce Robins, the co-director of Patient Concern said: “This is a terrible tragedy for patients awaiting a transplant. Lives may be lost because people could be deterred from joining the register.”
