| A newborn boy in Winnipeg, Manitoba, is expected to fully recover after being born into a toilet by his mother who says she didn't know she was pregnant. The child was born in the home of Heather Richards, 33, Sunday morning while she was sitting on the toilet in pain, the Winnipeg Free Press reported Tuesday. "I didn't know what it was at first," she said of her first delivery. "I thought I was dying." Police officers were in the home on an unrelated matter when they heard Richards' screams. They found the infant without vital signs in the bowl and a policewoman began resuscitation that revived him. "When he started to cry, it was the best thing I've ever heard," Richards told the newspaper. She said the baby had a small skull fracture from hitting the toilet bowl, but doctors told her the 4-pound, 9-ounce child would fully recover. |
