分析：SAT改革，文法考试平行结构的考点

　　SAT考试改革，国际学校的同学们可要注意了。本文将从简单的平行结构角度把可能考到的句子结构进行了小结，以便考生们理清思路，下面我们来看下改革后新SAT语法部分平行结构的考察。希望对大家的备考有帮助。

　　1、三者的并列平行

　　例题：

　　Hundreds of large,colorful new murals depicting elements of Mexican American life and history appeared during this period, some in designated cultural locations but many more in abandoned lots,on unused buildings, or painted on infrastructure such as highways andbridges.

　　A. NO CHANGE

　　B. they werepainted on

　　C. on

　　D. DELETE the underlinedportion.

　　一句话中，如果一看见，A, B, conj. C的结构，即要保证A,B,C三者结构，词性的对称性，因此本题很容易得到in abandoned lots, on unused buildings, oron infrastructure; C选项为正确答案。

　　2、两者的并列平行

　　例题：

　　The centerpiece ofthe work was dominated by images of native people being oppressed and including an eagle symbolizing the United States.

　　A. NO CHANGE

　　B. included

　　C. includes

　　D. had included

　　同样是一句话中，如若看见连词(and, or, while等)，前后内容的词性，形式需要保持一致。因此，此题中根据and前面的动词was, 判断得出其后应要和它保持一致included,此外，本题中事件发生在一个时间点，时态也需要注意到;正确选项为B。

　　3、平行结构标志词的搭配

　　例题：

　　Research onregional variations in English-language use has not only yielded answers tosuch questions as how people in different parts of the US refer to carbonated beverages it also illustrates how technology can change the very natureof research.

　　A. NO CHANGE

　　B. and also illustrates

　　C. but alsoillustrates

　　D. illustrating

　　平行结构中有不少耳熟能详的标志词，例如not only...but also, neither...nor,either...or 等，这个考点看似非常简单，可是粗心的同学却经常失分呢，所以要重视起来。本题显然选C。

　　4、比较对象的对称

　　例题：

　　Some people buyorganic food because they believe organically grown crops are more nutritiousand safer for consumption than the people who purchase their conventionally grown counterparts.

　　A. NO CHANGE

　　B. the purchase of

　　C. purchasing

　　D. DELETE theunderlined portion

　　在写含有比较级的句子中，比较对象需要完全一致，例如说Linda的狗比Peter的狗聪明，需写成Linda’s dog is more clever than Peter’s/ that ofPeter. ，决不能直接写than Peter, 不然会引起逻辑上的谬误。同样，本题中，比较对象是crops,当然不能出现别的成分例如people, the purchase等，正确选项为D。
