| For all of his hard work, Adrian's boss decides to reward him with a promotion! He feels on top of the world and wants to celebrate with Ping, so he invites her to meet him at their favorite restaurant. He also has something very important he wants to ask Ping. What could it be? (In the office) Boss:Adrian, can I see you in my office for a few minutes? Adrian:Sure, boss. Is something the matter? Boss:Sit down. There's a supervisor position available and I think you'd be perfect forit. Adrian:Are you offering me a promotion? That's fantastic! Boss:No, I'm not offering you a promotion, but I can support your request for one. Adrian:Oh. I thought... Boss:I can't give you a promotion, but for all the hard work you've done, I'd like to give you a raise! Adrian:This is really unexpected, thank you! Boss:This bonus is to acknowledge everything you've done for the company. Adrian:This is very generous of you, but I don't think I'm deserving of it. Boss:Don't be so polite. You deserve it for a job well done. (At the restaurant with Ping) Adrian:Ping, I have great news! Ping:I heard you got a promotion. Congrats! Adrian:I was offered the position of supervisor. Ping:I can think of no one better for the post. Congratulations! Adrian:No, no! Hold on! I wasn't given the post；I have to apply for it. Ping:Oh, that's too bad. Adrian:But I was given a raise! How long is the flight? Agent:From L.A. to Vegas will take less than one hour. Adrian:That's convenient. I might as well drive! Agent:Did you want a seat near the window or the aisle?
