能力要求：

理解说话者的意图观点和态度。
考试内容：
该部分由ABC节组成。
A节(5题)： 考查学生理解详细信息的能力。根据180-200词的独白或对话，填补句子或表格中的空白。录音放两遍。
B节(5题)：考查考生理解总体和特定的信息能力。根据一段280-320词的独白或对话，回答简答题。录音放两遍。
C节(10题)： 考查考生获取特定信息，理解主旨和详细信息，猜测词义，判断演讲者态度和意图的能力。根据三段独白或对话(每段200-300词)，从四个选项中选出最佳答案。录音只放一遍。
注意事项：
1.总体来讲，听每一段录音之前，每一道小题都有5秒的阅读时间。
2.A节两遍。第一遍完毕，考生有30秒的时间检查答案，之后听第二遍。最后还有20秒的时间完成答案。
3.B节两遍。第一遍完毕，考生有50秒时间检查，最后还有30秒时间完成答案。
4.C节每段录音只放一遍。边听边答题，最后有30-40秒的时间检查答案。
5.A.B两节要求把答案誊写在指定的位置。在听力部分结束之前，给出5分钟誊写答案。字数的要求很严格。A节每题答案在3字之内，B节在5字之内。注意在补全句子的题目中一定要与前面给出的句子部分的内容和语法结构的连贯性，而且答案在原则上采用录音材料中的文字。
part A You will hear a monologue. Listen and complete the sentences in questions 1-5 with the information you have heard. Write not more than 3 words in each numbered box. You will hear the recording twice.
录音正式开始之前，切记抓紧时间看一遍问题，第一，确定题目的要求;第二，通过问题猜测文章可能会涉及的内容，作到心中有数。第三，尽可能看清题目，以便听的时候有重点，不盲目。并且建议大家在对于答题很关键的词或词组下面做个标记，这样有利于理清思绪。
迅速浏览问题.第一，这一部分是补全句子。第二，The primary purpose of the talk is to explain to the students _____.所以听众应该是学生;CoMpUTER出现的频率很高，应该和计算机有关;computer lab出现了好几次。第三，迅速分析答题要求。1.要求说出这段话目的，是个主旨题，需要理解全文。2.要求说出时间，所以要对表示时间的词语很敏感。3.要求具体的信息，什么样的人享有优先权。4.在重要的规定是什么，所以要对于表示重要的形容词敏感。5.使用计算机时候，出示什么。

1. rules(for lab).此题是主旨题。要求在理解全文的基础上，对文章的内容进行高度的概括。该文讲述的是计算机房使用的注意事项。而且文章中反复出现了RULE这个词。
2. midterms and finals. 该题考查抓住具体信息的能力。You will probably take note of this information because during midterms and finals we occasionally have large lists of students waiting to use the computer terminals.

part B. You will hear a monologue. Answer questions 6-10 while you listen. Use not more than 5 words for each answer. You will hear the recording twice.
浏览一遍问题：第一，简答题，字数要求不超过5个词。第二，第一题出现了CoNFERENCE。

写作是四项语言技能中的一个重要部分，更是语言生成能力的重要表现形式。此部分在试卷中占的权重比较大。PETS 第四级应会写多种形式的文章。如：私人和公务信函、备忘录、小结和报告。一般叙述、描述和说明性的文章。
考生应掌握：
用准确的语法、词汇、拼写、标点进行表达;
遵循文章的特定文体格式;
合理地组织文章的内容与文字、使其连贯、统一;
根据写作目的和特定读者，具有针对性地写作。
考生写出的文章应满足以下几点：
1.内容完整。2，结构连贯。3，语言准确。4，格式和语域恰当。5，书写清楚。
Write an essay entitled “E-mail” of about 160-200 words in three paragraphs by referring to the following information.
E-mail, i.e. electronic mail, is a product of modern technology.
