Wrap your sweetie's gift in charmingly rustic scrapbook paper and raffia ribbon
Wrap your sweetheart's Valentine’s Day gift in a subdued, rustic style by using scrapbooking paper as a focal point. The paper is positioned so the hearts are visible around the burgundy raffia ribbon. A silver heart button is added to the center of the bow as an accent. Follow thsse instructions to get the gift-wrapping look!
Small Box
Difficulty - Easy
Materials
Oatmeal colored recycled wrapping paper
Red and burgundy heart patterned craft or scrapbooking paper
Burgundy raffia (Raffia is very easy to use. It is very pliable which allows for fun multi-looped bows with little effort.)
1 Small silver heart button
Instructions
1. Wrap a box in oatmeal colored paper.
2. Cut a piece of the striped craft paper 1/2 inch smaller than the width of the box and the length to wrap around the entire box plus 1 inch. Try to account for the pattern before you cut the paper to make sure that the hearts will be visible on the top of the box after the ribbon and bow is attached.
3. If the craft paper is not long enough to wrap around the entire box, tape two pieces together on the wrong side of the paper, matching the pattern, to achieve the desired length.
4. Using double-sided tape, tape the inside of the craft paper in even intervals at the edges. Apply to the box, centering the paper evenly on the top of the box and overlapping the ends on the bottom of the box.
5. Wrap the raffia 2 times continuously around the box, crisscrossing on the bottom of the box. Tie ends on the top of the box, leaving a few inches for tails.
6. Feed one of the tails under the other ribbon and tie the two tails together into a knot to cinch the ribbons together.
7. To make the bow, hold the ribbon about 3 inches from the end with your thumb and form a loop. Securing the loop with your thumb, form another loop on the opposite side of the first loop. Continue this motion, holding each new loop with your thumb, until you have 6 loops on each side.
8. Tie the bow to the package using the ribbon tails.
9. Separate the loops from each other, fluff the bow and trim the tails to the desired length.
10. Glue the silver heart button onto the middle of the bow.
Medium Square Box

Try to account for the pattern before you cut the paper to make sure that the hearts will be visible on the top of the box after the ribbon and bow is attached.
3. If the craft paper is not long enough to wrap around the entire box, tape two pieces together on the wrong side of the paper, matching the pattern if possible, to achieve the desired length.
