考研词组突破(三) carry的用法：carry(carried carried) carry away carry forward carry off carry on carry out carry over carry through carry away 使入迷，陶醉 eg: He was carried away by the music 音乐使他入迷 carry forward 推进 carry off 获得(奖赏)，拿走，夺走(生命) eg: She carried off the first prize. 她获得了头奖 eg: The plague has carried off many children. 这场瘟疫夺走了许多孩子的生命 carry on 1)继续下去，坚持下去 2)从事，经营 eg: Without telephone it would be impossible to carry on functions of every business operation in the whole country. 要是没有电话，全国所有的商业运作都无法继续 eg: Henry wants to carry on a business himself 亨利打算自己经营一起买卖 carry out 执行，贯彻，完成，实现 eg: He failed to carry out some of the provisions of the contract,and now he has to answer for the consquences. 他未能兑现合同上的一些条款，所以现在他必须对结果负责 carry over (使)继续下去，将...延后 carry through 1)实现，完成，坚持下去 2)使度过困难(或麻烦等) eg: He carried through the work 他完成了那项工作 eg: My determination carried me through the difficulties. 我的决心使我渡过了难关 |
