(一) 动词-ing形式的用法
本课出现了很多动词-ing形式作主语、宾语、伴随状语的用法。 1. 动词-ing形式作为现在分词 现在分词表示正在进行中的行为。分词短语有时也可以代替从句，有时还可以用作形容词。如： Walking in the street, I saw a man robbing a woman of her bag. 走在马路上，我看到一个男人正在抢一位女士的包。（Walking in the street 相当于When I was walking in the street,在句子中作时间状语；主句中的robbing表示正在发生的动作，是动词saw的宾语补足语。） I was giving you a call when you knocked at the door. 你敲我门的时候,我正在给你打电话。（现在分词giving表示正在进行的动作。） 2. 动词-ing形式作为动词 动句词的词性相当于普通的名词，主要有以下几种用法： (1) 相当于不可数名词，前面不带冠词，如：Swiming is fun. I love it. 游泳很有趣。我喜欢游泳。 My father tried to give up smoking. 我爸爸试图戒烟。 (2) 动名词可以放在限定词如物主代词和形容词的后面使用，这类限定词有：a,this,the,some和a lot of。如： The sinking of the ship was incredible. 这艘船沉没不可思议。 I enjoyed deep thinking in the night. 我喜欢在夜里沉思。 (3) 动名词兼有动词的特点，它可以在后面带宾语，也可以有副词修饰它，还可以有时态或语态的变化。如： I am sorry for having wasted your time. 浪费了你的时间，真是抱歉。 Driving fast is very dangerous in the big city. 在大城市开快车是很危险的。 (二) while的用法 while的用法比较灵活，归纳起来基本上有三种： 1. 引导时间状语，表示“当．．．．．．时候，与．．．．．．同时”，后面一般用进行时态。如：I am reading the book while you talking to me. 你对我说话的时候，我正在看书。 2. 引导让步状语，表示“尽管”，语气较轻。如：While it is very cold today, we decide to go out for a walk. 尽管今天天气很冷，我们还是决定出去走走。 3. while后面直接跟现在分词，过去分词或介词短语，将部分成份省略。如：You had to be very cautious while (you are) driving. 你开车的时候必须很小心. (三) more than, no more than, not more than, not any more than 的用法 1. more than 超过，多于，不止。 如：There are more than 50 students in our class. 我们班有50个学生。 2. no more than 仅仅，只不过。如：He had no more than 3 pounds with him. 他随身只带了3英镑。 3. not more than 不超过，至多。如：There are not more than 20 students who have passed the exam. 通过考试的学生不超过20个。 4. no more ...than ..., not ...any more than ...与．．．．．．一样不．．．．．．。 如：I am no more good at English than she is.我和她都不擅长英语。 5. not more ...than... 没有．．．．．．那样．．．．．．。 如：I am not more happy than you are. 我没有你那么幸福。 |
