| Niagara Falls 尼亚加拉大瀑布 Niagara Falls (43°4′54.68″N, 79°4′19.5″W) is a set of massive waterfalls located on the Niagara River in eastern North America, on the border between the United States and Canada. Niagara Falls (French: les Chutes du Niagara) comprises three separate waterfalls: the Horseshoe Falls (sometimes called the Canadian Falls), the American Falls, and the smaller, adjacent Bridal Veil Falls. While not exceptionally high, Niagara Falls is very wide. With more than 168,000 cubic meters (6 million cubic feet) of water falling over the crestline every minute it is the most powerful waterfall in North America and possibly the best-known in the world. Niagara Falls is renowned for its beauty, and is both a valuable source of hydroelectric power and a challenging project for environmental preservation. A popular tourist site for over a century, the natural wonder is shared between the twin cities of Niagara Falls, New York and Niagara Falls, Ontario.  Attractions 魅力景观 l Skylon Tower 史凯伦塔: a tall tower that has an observation deck and revolving restaurant with a great view of the falls. There are arcade games in the base. l Maid of the Mist 雾中少女号: a boat that takes tourists to the foot of the falls, where you can better appreciate their thunder and spray. Only runs in the summer. l Greg Frewin Dinner Theatre 格里格·弗莱温宴会剧场: Illusionist Greg Frewin presents his Las Vegas style magic show. l Flower clock 花钟: a clock made entirely of flowers, near the Whirlpool. l Niagara Botanical Gardens 尼亚加拉植物园 (at their best in the summer) l Butterfly conservatory 蝴蝶温室: lots of butterflies in an enclosed space l Clifton Hill Niagara Falls尼亚加拉瀑布克利夫顿山区: a hill, and a street, full of exciting and fun tourist attractions such as wax museums, Ripley's Believe it or Not, haunted houses, and gift shops. l Imax theatre 巨幕影院: has a great movie about the history of the Falls l Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort尼亚加拉大瀑布美景赌场. A splendid new Vegas style Casino l Casino Niagara 尼亚加拉赌场, the old but nice casino near Clifton Hill l Seneca Niagara Casino 辛力加尼亚加拉赌场, on the American side l The Bell Aerospace Museum 贝尔宇航博物馆, on the American side l Fort Niagara in Youngstown 扬斯敦的尼亚加拉堡, a 10 minute drive from the falls l Our Lady of Fatima Shrine 法蒂玛圣母祠, in Lewiston a 10 minute drive from the falls Grand Canyon 大峡谷 The Grand Canyon is a colorful, steep-sided gorge, carved by the Colorado River, in northern Arizona, USA. The canyon appears on many versions of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World list, although none of these lists are by any means authoritative. It is largely contained within the Grand Canyon National Park — one of the first national parks in the United States. President Theodore Roosevelt was a major proponent of the Grand Canyon area, visiting on numerous occasions to hunt mountain lions and enjoy the scenery. |
