    杰弗瑞有许多朋友。每一个都喜欢杰弗瑞，因为他是如此的友善。他喜欢帮助他的朋友。如果彼德的球卡在树上了，杰弗瑞将把它弄下来。"谢谢，杰弗瑞。"噢，不客气，彼德。"如果玛丽受伤了，杰弗瑞将带她回家。"噢！我的腿！"玛丽，你怎么样？让我帮你起来。""哎唷！痛。我不能走了。""我将送你回家。""谢谢，杰弗瑞！"

    Jeffery the Giant had many friends.Everyone liked Jeffery because he was so kind. He likes to help his friends. If Peter‘s ball got stuck in the tree，Jeffery would get it down."Thanks，Jeffery.""Oh you’re welcome，Peter."If Mary hurt herself，Jeffery would carry her home."Oh！My leg！""Mary，are you OK？Here let me help you up.""Ouch！It hurts.I can‘t walk.""I’ll take you home.""Thanks，Jeffery."

    杰弗瑞喜欢他所有的朋友，但是杰弗瑞是伤心的。对于杰弗瑞来说和他的朋友一起玩儿太难了，因为……他们的捉迷藏藏身处太小了，他们的跳绳太短了，他们的篮球篮太低了，他们的跷跷板总是起来，但是从不下去。

    Jeffery liked all his friends，but Jeffery was sad. It was too hard for Jeffery to play with his friends，because their hide-and-seek hiding spots were too small， their jump ropes were too short， their basketball hoops were too low， their seesaws always went up，but they never came down.

    一天，杰弗瑞回家很早。他坐在一棵他能找到的最大的树下面。他不想再去游乐场了。

    One day Jeffery came home early.He sat down under the biggest tree he could find.He didn‘t want to be at the playground anymore.

    "我太高大了而不能和我的朋友一起玩儿，"杰弗瑞对他自己说。

    "I am too big to play with my friends，"said Jeffery to himself.

    "嗨！我的名字是艾迪。我是新来的。你想要和我一起玩儿吗？"杰弗瑞没有向上看。他仍然把头埋在他的双手之间。

    "Hi，my name is Eddy.I‘m new here.Do you want to play with me？"Jeffery didn’t look up.He kept his head hidden in his hands.

    "我太高大了不能和任何人一起玩，"杰弗瑞喊到。

    "I‘m too big to play with anyone，"cried Jeffery.

    "我认为你不是那么高大，"艾迪说。

    "I don‘t think you’re that big，"said Eddy.

    "真的？"杰弗瑞满怀希望地问。

    "Really？"asked Jeffery hopefully.

    "是的，真的，"艾迪说。"你象我一样高大。"

    "Yes，really，"said Eddy."You‘re big like me."

    杰弗瑞把他的头从手之间挪开。"噢，嗨，"杰弗瑞害羞地说。"我的名字是杰弗瑞。"

    Jeffery took his head out of his hands."Oh，hi，"said Jeffery shyly."My name is Jeffery."

    艾迪笑道。"看，我是高大的。为什么你在哭泣，杰弗瑞？"

    Eddy smiled."See，I am big.Why were you crying，Jeffery？"

    "噢，我哭泣是因为我太高大了而不能和我的朋友一起玩。"

    "Oh，I was crying because I am too big to play with my friends."

    "你不是十分高大，"艾迪说。"他们的游戏只不过太小了。让我们一起去游乐场，我将让你看看如何使他们的游戏变大。"

    "You‘re not too big，"said Eddy."Their games are just too small.Let’s go to the playground together.and I‘ll show you how to make their games bigger."

    杰弗瑞和艾迪一起来到游乐园，然后杰弗瑞学会了怎样玩更大的游戏。

    Jeffery and Eddy went to the playground to together，and Jeffery learned how to play bigger games.

    杰弗瑞和艾迪成为了最好的朋友。他们也和其他的孩子们在一起很开心。杰弗瑞很高兴有如此高大的一个朋友。

    Jeffery and Eddy bacame best friedns. They had fun with the other children too. Jeffery was glad to have such a big friend.
