少儿英语童话故事：The Pumpkin Pirate

什么时候能在大海上看到大大的月亮时，你就能看到三个南瓜海盗的幽灵船了。坐好啦，我现在要开始讲故事啦。

When you see a big moon like this over the ocean， you might be able to see a ghost ship like the one sailed by the Three Pumpkin Pirates. Make yourselves comfortable and I‘ll tell you their story

载着三个南瓜海盗的幽灵船在万圣节的时候突然抛了锚。这三个家伙，一个瘦小，一个强壮，另一个很小气。他们划船到了海岸边，开始准备寻宝，幻想着能找到好大一笔财宝。

A ghost ship dropped anchor one dark Halloween bearing three pumpkin pirates. They were small， tough and mean. They rowed to the shore and began there to measure， hoping to unearth a bountiful treasure.

X标记就是在这里，海盗船长大叫着，挖到金子我考虑跟你们分点。他们挖了一个又一个洞，结果一毛钱也没有见到。海盗大副嘟囔着：我看啊，这里恐怕什么都没有。伤心的船长撅起嘴开始哭起来。这时他们听到附近有欢笑声，咚咚咚的敲门声，还有一句话"不给糖果就捣乱"他们躲在篱笆的后面，向对面街上偷看着。

"X marks the spot，" said Captain to crew. "Dig deep for the gold I‘ll be sharin’ with you." They dug hole after hole but found not a penny. The First Mate moaned， "I fear there‘s not any". The sad Captain pouted and started to cry， That’s when they heard laughter from very nearby. There was a knock-knock-knock and the words， "Trick or Treat！" They peeked over the fence and across the street.

孩子们穿着万圣节衣服，打扮成国王，猫猫和老鼠，站在门外，手中还拿着大袋子。房子里还有人给他们发战利品。"我们上"，南瓜海盗船长跺着靴子要出发，"他在分发着我们的金子。""我们快去夺回来，再给他们点颜色看看！"

Children in costumes， dressed like king， cat and mouse Were holding bags open at the door of a house. From somewhere inside， a man offered them "loot". "Come along"， said the Captain， stomping his boot. "That must be our gold he‘s giving away." "Let’s march up and take it and make the dog pay！"

"不给糖果就捣乱"，海盗们一边敲着门，一边大叫着。"快把财宝交出来，不然我们会痛扁你！""蓝胡子妖怪？！"那人说，"看呐，多好的万圣节衣服，今年最好的就是你们了。都拿走吧，孩子们，"他假装害怕地说，"今天就到此为止啦。"三个海盗欢呼着跑回他们的船。但一时间却又停住了脚步，他们看着自己口袋。

"Trick or Treat"， called the pirates， as they knocked on the door. "Hand over the treasure！ We‘re gettin’ real sore." "Great Bluebeard‘s ghost！"， said the man. "Here！ Here！" "What wonderful costumes， the best of this year." "Here， take it all， boys"， he said， faking fright. "The Missus and I will call it a night." The three pirates cheered and to their ship started back. But they stopped for a moment and looked in their sack.

" 这是什么？"船长怪叫着，"啊，他真是个滑头，居然拿了一袋子糖果耍了我们！"大副说，"我们留着吧，还有很长的路要走呢。我讨厌那些发霉的老面包。""也许今天就是一个节日吧。我们明年再来吧！你看怎么样？""我们都是硬汉，"船长说，"但是我告诉你个秘密啊，我其实相当喜欢吃甜食。"

"What‘s this？"， roared the Captain. "Oh， this is just dandy！ That scoundrel has tricked us with a big bag of candy！" The mate said， "Let’s keep it. We‘ve a long voyage ahead. I get so tired of that stale nasty bread." "Perhaps it’s a custom to give treats on this day. Let‘s come again next year. What do you say？" "We may be tough，" said the Captain， "but I’ll tell you the truth. Even I suffer from an awful sweet tooth."

于是，一年接一年过去，每当万圣节晚上，如果你看到一支幽灵船出现在月光里，还有三个拿着麻袋的家伙的话，那么毫无疑问，南瓜海盗又回来啦！

So year after year， on Halloween night， If you see a ghost ship in the moon‘s early light， Watch for three little guys with a big cloth sack. There’s a very good chance the Pumpkin Pirates are back！
