(一) 重点词汇讲解
interaction n.相互影响；相互作用 [例句] There should be a lot more interation between the social services and local doctors. [译文] 社会公益服务机构和当地医生应该加强协作。 spontaneously adv.自发地；一时冲动地 [例句] These medical conditions can often cure themselves spontaneously, without medical intervention. [译文] 这些病症经常不用药品物治疗也可自愈。 harness vt.利用 [例句] This is a new scheme to generate electricity by harnessing the power of the wind. [译文] 这是一个利用风力发电的新计划。 scenario n.剧情说明；电影剧本。 [例句] The famous actress was very interested in the scenario. [译文] 这位著名的女演员对这部电影剧本很感兴趣。 (二) 核心短语讲解 1. hold down保有（一份工作）；压抑；压低；控制。 如：The government tried to hold prices down.政府试图把物价压下来。 2. look for 寻找；期待和等待。 当表示“寻找”时，look for 表示寻找的动作和过程，而find表示寻找的结果。 如：She is looking for her gloves.她正在找她的手套。 look for 还表示一种期待的意味。 如：The peasant are looking for a change of weather in March.农民指望着三月份的天气有所改变。 3. What's the matter with ...怎么了？出什么问题了？ 与之同义的短语是：What's wrong with ...。 4. be born出生。 与该短语搭配的介词有with, of 等。be born of意思是“出生于” ；be born with意思是“生而具有”。 如：Lili was born with the talent of music. 莉莉生来就具有音乐天赋。 5. be identified as被看作．．．．．． 与之意思相同的短语是be regardeed as, be considered as。 如： Yan'an is identified as the cradle of China revolution.延安被看作是中国革命的摇篮。 如果把介词换成with,意思就大不相同了。be identified with意思是“以．．．．．．著名”。 如：Sichuan province is identified with the panda.四川省以熊猫而闻名。 6. to a large extent在很大程度上。 由extent 派生的短语还有to some extent,意思是“在某种程度上，（多少）有一点。”短语中的extent是名词，前面可以加形容词，如big,certain等。 如：To a big extent, this car accident was caused by carelessness.这起交通事故在很大程度上是由于粗心大意引起的。 7. be awarded to （奖项等）被授予某人。 award做名词讲，意思是“奖品，奖励”，也可以用作 及物动词，表示“授予”。 8. carry out实现；完成；实施。 如：He had begun to carry out his plan.他已经开始实施他的计划了。 注意把该短语与carry through区分。carry through 意思是“帮（某人）度过难关；使（某人）保持勇气。” 9. in terms of 根据，按照，用．．．．．．的话，在．．．．．．方面。 如：In terms of the tuition fees, this university charged the highest all over the country.在学费庆，这个大学在全国是收费最高的。 当表示“根据，依照”时，与according to 同义。 10. make progress 取得进展，进步。 这个短语通常可以和许多不同的介词搭配使用。make progress in意思是“在．．．．．．方面取得进步（进展）”；make progress toward 意思是“朝着．．．．．．（目标）前进”；make progress with 意思是“把．．．．．．向前推进；在．．．．．．（方面）取得进展”。 如：They are making progress towards the goal of producing the best products. 他们正在朝着生产最好的产品这一目标前进。 11. be capable of 能够。 指人时，表示“有．．．．．．的能力；有．．．．．．的倾向”；指物时，表示“易于：有．．．．．．的余地；可以”。与之意思相同的短语是be able to。 如：The students are capable of finish this task in time.学生们能够及时完成这项任务。 The little boy was able to tell many stories. 这个小男孩会讲许多故事。 |
