　　In the picture, an old lady is sitting in front of a mirror. She is saying to herself in the mirror: "The children are not in my company. I feel rather lonely." The picture reveals one of the serious problems of our modern society.

　　With better living conditions and better medical care, people can live much longer than before. But how to take care of them has become a big problem, which we must cope with seriously. It is reported that there are more than 160 million people aged over 60 in our country. The percentage of old people is still increasing and many families are confronted with problems coming along with old people. The fast tempo of modern life has left people little time and energy to look after their old parents. On the other hand, some people take their old parents as their burden and treat them badly. As a result, many old people feel neglected and live in great loneliness and helplessness, especially when they are suffering from poor health.

　　Something should be urgently done to help these lonely old people. First of all, those who have old parents should take the responsibility to take good care of them. The government should set up more nursing houses for old people, especially for those who have no children and who are physically and mentally disabled. More importantly, there should be more organizations providing financial, medical and legal assistance for old people. In a word, special efforts should be made to help old people to spend their later years of their lives comfortably and merrily.

　　Emerging from the cartoon is an ironic scene that a man is striving to climb up the stairs called "savings", sweat pouring down his face. After a hard journey, he is almost getting to the highest position. He, unfortunately, falls down because of illness. How vivid this drawing is in describing the importance of health.

　　Many people consider social status and wealth as the primary goals of life, but the picture above reminds us that without health, no pleasure can be tasted by man. Good health is essential for everything. First of all, an unhealthy person can hardly surpass energetic ones in his work and thus has little chance to gain great wealth and the consequent higher social status. In addition, even though a person happens to live an affluent life, he cannot enjoy it without health. Many successful entrepreneurs are reported to be harassed by illness and some even die at the prime of life, leaving their luxurious houses, big cars, beautiful clothes and all the great things behind.

　　From the above arguments, we can conclude that everyone, especially those preoccupied with tight work schedules, should realize the importance of good health and spare a little time to take exercises and arrange healthy diets.

　　From the cartoon given above，we can observe that there are some people in a bus. When seeing that a disabled man is entering the bus, the old man near the seat just stands up instantly, and offers his seat to the handicapped one. And a little girl does the same to the grandpa as he did to the disabled. However, a young, healthy man shows no intention of giving seats to the old and the infirm man.

　　The cartoon aims at informing us of the phenomenon of the gradual loss of social morality. Quite a few people today are selfish and egocentric. When putting self-interest in the first place, they tend to overlook others' benefits or feelings and become nonchalant. Moreover，this phenomenon can also be attributed to people's concern that their social morality，which can be best expressed through kindness，hospitality and warm-hearted behaviors，will sometimes invite unnecessary trouble.

　　However，no one can deny the importance of social morality. It is conducive to the harmony of society. People with the awareness of social morality are more likely to provide others with a helping hand，endeavor to abide by social orders and curb on their undesirable behaviors. Confronted with the inexorable decline in the emphasis of social ethics，the authorities should launch a large-scale educational campaign to create an atmosphere of respecting social ethics. Coinciding with this move，we ourselves should also enhance the consciousness of it.
